15 Stranded - Ninjas roll

Roswell, GA -- The Ninjas, playing their second away game of the season rolled into Centennial High School field anxious to play. Scoring early wasn't an issue, driving in base runners was like driving in Atlanta traffic. Stranding fifteen runners wasn't the plan, but it worked.

Chris Hanney had took control early. Starting his first game of the season on the hump, he dealt with the lineup with ease. Pitching five solid innings and only allowing a run, Angus Nicholson took over in the sixth. After striking out the first two batters the inning got a little hairy after hitting the third batter of the inning. With the heart of the lineup, the number three hitter was down in the pitch count 0-2. A fast baseball on the outside corner was blooped into the outfield allowing the runner to score from second making the score 4-2. With a runner on second, their number four hitter got in the hole 1-2. The hanging curve wasn't the best selection, 340 feet later......Ninjas 4 - Dragons 4.

The Ninjas scored two runs the following inning on key hits. Walking the first two batters his next inning, Nicholson struck out the next two and closed the inning with a fly ball to center.

Erin Lacey pitched the eight inning allowing two base runners, but gave up no runs. JP Lowen came on to pitch the ninth innings, striking out the first batter, giving up a base hit to the second batter, struck out the next batter, and closed the game on a pop up to third. Ninjas win 10 - 5.

Game Notes:

The Ninjas are 6-0 on the season and the only undefeated team in Atlanta. The Ninja's are 21-1 in regular season play since the beginning of last season.

Game MVP -- Chris Hanney - 5 innings, allowing only one run, and a bases loaded clutch hit.
